TAKE A DIP
Small creeks, streams and deep rainstorm puddles can be crossed without a worry. The 2018 Jeep® Wrangler is designed with its air intake positioned high in the engine compartment, electrical connections are sealed against moisture and body openings close tightly, keeping the water out until you’re back on dry land.
GET IN AND GO
The Selec-Trac® 4x4 System features a full-time mode that will automatically switch from 2WD to 4WD when conditions dictate. Relying on internal wheel speed and traction control sensors, Selec-Trac makes driving in uneven terrains and inclement weather safer and smoother while delivering superior efficiency when four-wheel drive isn’t needed.
When four-wheel power is required, the Command-Trac 4x4 System with an NV241 GII transfer case shifts into action to help you get through with ease. Command-Trac is a proven shift-on-the-fly system with a 2.72:1 low range for rock crawling and neutral for available flat towing — purposefully built for fun and the freedom to go wherever the adventure leads.

Any off-road enthusiast knows the legendary Rock-Trac 4x4 System. Standard on the Rubicon, it gives you more control and more torque, offering superior off-road performance. Want even more jaw-dropping capability? The tough-as-nails NV241-Off-Road transfer case with a 4:1 low gear ratio, Tru-Lok® electronic locking front and rear differentials and an electronic front sway bar disconnect are always ready to be tested.
TAKE THE EASY WAY DOWN
With available Hill Descent Control engaged, your Wrangler will control your speed as you go downhill over rough terrain. You can concentrate on steering without the need to ride the brakes.
BIGGER AND BETTER
The new 33-inch all-terrain tires offer improved performance for crawling or wheeling on more advanced trails. You get more ground clearance and use less power thanks to a larger surface area and improved traction.
STRENGTHEN YOUR GRIP ON NATURE
With a 4:1 low-gear ratio, the Rock-Trac®-equipped Rubicon can supply an 84:1 crawl ratio when equipped with the manual transmission. The heavy-duty transfer case delivers more torque and more control for superior off-road performance.
KEEP TIRES ON THE GROUND
This system, which is standard on the Rubicon, allows you to disconnect your sway bar, allowing your front wheels to drop and compress, resulting in improved suspension articulation on tough off-road environments.
Keeping you strong in the face of obstacles around and ahead, the rock rails on Rubicon help you slide over rocks and other hurdles. An available winch-capable steel front bumper features removable endcaps for improved off-road capability.
DON’T LOSE TRACTION
When rock crawling over different surfaces and angles, power can easily be misapplied and wheels can start spinning. Rubicon is equipped with front and rear Tru-Lok® electronic locking differentials. They lock power and distribute it evenly between the wheels for ultimate traction.
WINCH-CAPABLE STEEL BUMPERS
The available steel front bumper is winch-capable, featuring removable endcaps so you can push the limits with more radical off-road adventures. A rear steel bumper is also available.
HEAVY-DUTY ELECTRICAL GROUP
This available option group adds an upgraded battery and alternator along with programmable auxiliary control switches to control aftermarket products, including many available from Jeep® Performance Parts.
READY FOR BATTLE
The 2018 Jeep® Wrangler is engineered to hit the trails, with steel front and rear tow hooks for rescuing less capable vehicles and with heavy-gauge steel skid plates to protect critical components for safer and more secure off-roading.
Standing tall above the rest, the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon is equipped with front and rear Dana® 44 axles. The axles are beefed up with thicker tubes and forgings for superior strength, rigidity and durability.
Mounted in the front and the rear of your Jeep® Wrangler, tow hooks provide a solid foundation for any pulling or rescuing that might be necessary.
